The Bo House team and its art savvy followers are beside themselves with excitement that the eight edition of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) is finally here, which was marked with the premier screening of ‘Mission: Impossible 4 – Ghost Protocol’ and the attendance of Tom Cruise.
Scheduled to run until next week, Wednesday 14 November, DIFF will be coming to JBR as The Walk host several films as part of the festival. Movie lovers will be pleased to hear that Bo House will be serving its selection of international cuisine and award winning gelato to take-away and enjoy in the open air cinema over some great shows.
This evening The Walk will screen Pandora’s Box at 8pm. A digital re-mastering of the 1929 film, viewers can now watch the movie in all its glory. Based on the play, Erdgeist by Frank Wedekind, the film follows the story of a seductive and reckless young woman who brings devastation to herself and those around her.
At 8pm, this coming Friday evening, 9 December, ‘Silence: All Roads Lead to Music’ will be screened. Following the story of several musicians from across the world, the artists merge their musical styles creating a sound blended from jazz, aboriginal, Arabic and Sicilian sounds.
Saturday evening the show continues with ‘Neil Young Journeys’, showing also at 8pm. Premiering earlier this year at the Toronto Film Festival, it received standing ovations. Made in collaboration with Jonathan Demme, the Academy Award-winning director of ‘Silence of the Lambs’ and ‘Rachel Getting Married’, the movie follows Young’s live performances. Avid fans of the folk rock star will be impressed with the quality sound in the movie resulting from the film’s unique digital presentation.
More movies will run on JBR for the duration of DIFF. For the full listings of movies running as part of DIFF check the official facebook page from The Walk @ JBR. http://www.facebook.com/#!/thewalkatjbr
